We are delighted to share that over the last few months, through match funding from Brandon and Byshottles Parish Council, two new public access defibrillators have been supported for our local communities.
One of the new defibrillators is now located at Beech Park Convenience Store, Brandon, providing residents with access to this vital lifesaving equipment when it is needed most. A second defibrillator has also been installed at The Boyne Hotel, Langley Moor.
These new defibrillators add to the growing network of publicly accessible equipment across our parish helping to ensure that more residents have access to emergency support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We are also pleased to have supported an initiative that involved local schools designing the fronts of the defibrillator cabinets, helping to encourage young people to take pride in their community and understand the importance of lifesaving skills.
Our thanks go to everyone involved in making this possible, including the pupils and staff at Brandon Academy and St Patrick’s Primary School, Rotary Northeast One Life Initiative in particular Tom Sharples, Durham Police, Wel Medical, and all partners and volunteers who continue to support this valuable community work.
