On behalf of the Chairman, Councillor Jimmy Jamieson, the Members and Staff at Brandon & Byshottles Parish Council, we send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family on this sad occasion.

A Book of Condolence is available for Members of the Public to pay their respects and express their sympathy at the Parish Council Office, 6 Goatbeck Terrace, Langley Moor, Durham, DH7 8JJ, between 9.30am – 2.00pm Monday – Friday

Durham Year of Pilgrimage 2020
Information event for cultural and creative organisations, individuals and community groups
Wednesday 4th September, 1.00pm to 4.30pm
Ushaw College, (Ushaw) Durham DH7 9RH
2020 sees the launch of walking trails across the region in celebration of the Northern Saints. The theme is being used as a destination development and marketing initiative to attract visitors as well as creating new leisure opportunities for residents.
Culture Durham’s Events Forum is holding a half-day session where attendees can learn more about the project and the opportunities it represents for partnership working, creative thinking and new ideas.
Booking is required for the session.
New Parish Council Chairman
At the Parish Council’s meeting on Friday 17th May 2019, Councillor Mrs Susan Nelson was elected as Chairman of the Parish Council for the coming year. Councillor Mrs Nelson has been a Member of the Council since 2012, representing Meadowfield and Browney Ward and was previously Chairman in 2016 to 2017.
Brandon Carrside Youth & Community Project
The Youth Project is commencing taster sessions from Monday 5th June until Monday 17th July from 4.00p.m until 5.30p.m. The sessions are for Year 6 pupils who would like to go along and see what a great range of activities the Youth Club can offer.
Past Chairman’s Charity
The Past Chairman, Cllr Mrs Cecilia Wharton, would like to thank everyone who contributed to her chosen charity, Parkinsons UK. Cllr Wharton raised £3,168.81 during her year of office and presented the proceeds to Abby Robinson from Parkinsons in May.
