The Government published the Local Government Transparency Code in February 2015. The purpose of the Code is to increase transparency in the publication of public sector data, particularly in relation to how public money is spent. This enables local people to hold local authorities to account for the use of council tax and the decisions taken on their behalf.
Part 2 of the Code sets out the information that town and parish councils with a gross annual income or expenditure exceeding £200,000 are recommended to publish.
Brandon and Byshottles Parish Council is committed to openness and transparency in its decision-making processes and in the use of public funds. The Council will seek to meet the publication requirements set out in Part 2 of the Code, insofar as they are relevant and applicable.
